Bicycle Course Requirements: Students must meet the minimum skill level for each course AND have the following:
A bicycle in good working legal condition - a tune-up is highly recommended.
An approved bicycle helmet (CSA, Snell, ASTM, CPSC or ANSI), a bell and a lock.
|Kids CAN-BIKE Festival
||The kids CAN-BIKE Fesitval is a playground-based event that introduces children to key bike handling skills, as well as correct helmet useage, checking bikes for mechanical problems, and preventing bike thefts. These festivals often occur at schools or during community events and festivals. It is important that children go on from the Festival to participate in the Kids CAN-BIKE onroad course.|
|Kids CAN-BIKE Course||9-13||12 Hours||
In-class and on-bike intruction teaches rules of the road, signalling, changing gears, identifying and avoiding road hazards. Kids learn how to ride safely on residential streets. Participants must be able to ride a bike.

Date: July 15 - 19, 2013 Day: Monday - Friday

Ages: 9 - 13 years (participants must be minimum of 9 years and no older than 13 years of age by December 31, 2013).
|CAN-BIKE Youth Learn to Ride 1||14-17||2 Hours||On-bike instruction teaches how to pedal, balance, start, stop and turn. This course is for first time riders.|
|CAN-BIKE Youth Learn to Ride 2||14-17||2 Hours||Designed to boost your riding skills to prepare for on-road cycling. Improve bike handling skills including balancing, turning and using your gears with confidence. CAN-BIKE Youth Learn to Ride 1 is not a prerequisite.
|Youth CAN-BIKE||14-17||12 Hours||Enhance your cycling skills through this course that is especially designed for youth with riding experience. Content includes basic maintenance, riding techniques, detecting hazards, and collision avoidance techniques while learning to ride more safely on residential streets and minor arterials. Great pre-driver education training.|
|CAN-BIKE Cycling Freedom for Women
||14+||12 Hours||Developed by women, for women. Provides the basics for cycling, such as security when riding at night, riding with children, how traffic works, proper cycling equipment, basic maintenance, bike handling skills, group riding, riding on quiet streets and minor arterials.|
|CAN-BIKE Adult Learn to Ride 1
CAN-BIKE Learn to Ride 1 provides On-bike instruction that teaches how to pedal, balance, start, stop and turn. This course is for first time riders.

|CAN-BIKE Adult Learn to Ride 2
Designed to boost your riding skills to prepare for on-road cycling. Improved bike handling skills, including balancing, turning and using your gears with confidence. CAN-BIKE Adult Learn to Ride 1 is not a prerequisite.

Ages: 18 years and up (participants must be 18 years of age by Dec. 31, 2013).
A basic course designed for cyclists who usually ride on residential streets and bike paths. Build confidence and ride more safely. Learn traffic theory, decision making, lane positioning, equipment musts, handling skills, collision avoidance techniques and riding on residential streets and minor arterials.
CAN-BIKE 2 is an advanced course in cooperative cycling for commuters and recreational cyclists who already ride in traffic. This course will improve your confidence and skill for riding in challenging traffic situations.

Dates/Times: Wednesday May 22, 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm,Saturday May 25& Sunday May 26, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Wednesday May 29, 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

|CAN-BIKE Instructor Workshop
||18+||18-24 Hours||Become a CAN-BIKE instructor! Open to CAN-BIKE 2 graduates with recommendation from their instructor. Participants further increase their cycling skills, learn effective teaching techniques, course planning and curriculum, plus risk management. For further information or to pre-register call 576-8522.
